Harrisonburg, VA (2018) – Valley Playhouse launches its 2018- 19 season with a compassionate drama about a family following the death of their father. PROOF, by David Auburn, directed by Rebecca Rodgers, will run at Court Square Theater August 9 - 19..
The Story: Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death and on the eve of her 25th birthday, she must deal with: her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit?
Proof features Makayla Baker, Leigh Beauchamp, Wil Browning, and Frank Dellorco. The creative team includes Noel Levan ( Lighting), Josh Mitri (sound), Michele Sullivan and Jonathan Mckinney (sets) and Alyssa Partlow and Liz Miiller (Costume), Marissa Plummer (stage manager).
Run time: 120 minutes, with 10-minute intermission. Due to mature subject matter, this production is recommended for high school and older audiences.

Showtimes: Thurs-Sat, 7:30 PM and Sun, 3 PM. Doors open one hour before showtime.
Tickets: $12 ($10-seniors) in advance, $14 ($12-seniors) at the door
