Valley Olive & Leaf on WHSV

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) — A new business is open in Elkton, specializing in balsamic vinegars and olive oils!
Valley Olive & Leaf is a "try before you buy" fusti bar, and they have 28 flavors of olive oils and balsamic vinegars.
The shop has almost any flavor you can think of, and each product is infused with fruit, botanical ingredients and herbs.
Christina Herbert and Daniel McLaughlin are the co-owners of the shop, which you can find at 110 W Spotswood Ave.
They say the balsamics and olive oils can be used for "salads, baking, cake glazes, fresh fruit, coffee, your tea, ice cream, desserts..."
There's even a guilt-free butter olive oil!
"Botanicals give it its flavor and it tastes like movie theater butter," said Christina.
"I use the maple on a lot of different things, oatmeal and pancakes, things like that," said Daniel. "Oh and red meats! We put key lime on ice cream."
Daniel says his favorite is the Tuscan herb.
When Christina's family introduced them to specialty oils and balsamics, they saw a need here in the northern part of the Valley. They thought Elkton, with its proximity to Harrisonburg, would be the perfect spot.
The couple is enjoying running the business.
"I like that we get to do it together, and that we have it on demand. I think we have it with every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner of some sort, and it's nice when you can raid your own shop!"
They also sell pasta, jams, and herbs and spices.
"If you need to stop on your way home and grab a full meal, we've got everything right here!" said Christina.
The store is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
