FULKS RUN — A Fulks Run Elementary School teacher who made it to the regional level for Teacher of the Year was not chosen as the statewide winner.
Chris Grim, a first- grade and math teacher of 29 years, was one of eight teachers up for this year’s Virginia Teacher of the Year. Grim represented Region 5.
Rodney A. Robinson, a history teacher at Virgie Binford Education Center in Richmond, was named 2019 Virginia Teacher of the Year on Tuesday evening during a recognition ceremony at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
Grim attended the ceremony along with Rockingham County Public Schools Superintendent Oskar Scheikl. “What a great event with Chris Grim as one of the eight finalists,” Scheikl said.
