HARRISONBURG, Va. (June 12, 2018) – Guitarist sensation Stephen Bennett returns to Arts Council of the Valley’s Court Square Theater on Thursday, July 12th for another incredible concert in the Court Square Theater Music Series.

Best recognized for his expert skills on the harp guitar, Stephen Bennett has been described as the “Jedi Master of finger-style guitar” by the Toronto Finger-Style Guitar Association. Bennett has also been known to strum a bit on a standard 6-string and his own personal 1930 National Steel, always to applause and acclaim from audiences.

Though Bennett performs worldwide, nothing compares to his founding of and continued involvement with the Harp Guitar Gathering, an annual event that brings harp guitar players, scholars, and fans together for a weekend of performances, workshops, and camaraderie. Bennett will once again host the 16th Annual Harp Guitar Gathering in Milford, Connecticut this October 12-14, 2018.

Ever modest of his success, Bennett writes on his website, “…I have hoped that the music I’ve created over the years has had meaning for those around the world who’ve taken the time to listen to it.” It’s difficult to imagine a world without Bennett in it, and harp guitar enthusiasts trust that his lifelong love affair with the sound of guitar strings is not set to end anytime soon.

Stephen Bennett will perform at Arts Council of the Valley’s Court Square Theater on Thursday, July 12th. Doors open at 7:00 PM with the show beginning at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $15 advance and $18 at the door. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit valleyarts.org or call 540.433.9189.
