Proud to support Rockingham County Public Schools (RCPS), the Rockingham Educational Foundation, Inc. (REFI) leads the way for the community to support education in Rockingham County. A non-profit foundation, REFI is dedicated to raising funds and facilitating programs to enhance education in RCPS.
REFI is currently accepting donations from businesses like yours for use in the Teacher Supply Depot. This is a warehouse where businesses and individuals may contribute their unneeded items for use in the classrooms in RCPS. This incredible resource is available to RCPS staff members for no charge. The depot is open once a week for staff to come “shop” for their classroom or school.
Any items that you can no longer use or need to get rid of will find a home in a classroom through our Teacher Supply Depot. While mainly school supplies, we have received fabric, outdated letterhead, wrapping paper, furniture and poster board. Our teachers are very creative in seeing the use in any item you would give to us. Craft and art supplies are especially desired.
As stated by Cindi Zodda, 5th grade teacher from River Bend Elementary "The Teacher Supply Depot has always been a tremendous resource that services and supplements teacher's classroom and instructional needs. The inventory that the depot has provided in the past - has ranged from items as large as furniture right on down to glue sticks and magic markers...and frankly all items in between." And Michael Villacrusis, English teacher from Turner Ashby High School said “When I tell other teachers outside of Rockingham County about the depot, they are both envious and impressed, not only by the tangible items available, but more importantly by the clear evidence of support from our community.”
