Organization Gets Gifts, Plaque

The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County has received from KOVAR, new furniture pieces supplied by Butler Human Services Furniture to be used by service recipients with developmental disabilities at theSimon-Edmonson Center.
Ed Seroskie, representing KOVAR, visited the center on May 8 and presented The Arc with a plaque.
The Arc was awarded a grant by KOVAR to purchase the durable couch,recliner and chairs that have been badly needed. Historically the service recipients have had only plastic folding chairs available to them.
The development of functional skills, life skills, socialization and recreationskills are emphasized in the center.
With this grant, service recipients have been provided a more comfortable, easily cleaned area that will encourage conversation and interaction duringskill-building.
