Sunnyside Names New Executive Director 
 
HARRISONBURG, VA – The president & CEO of Sunnyside Communities, Josh Lyons, has announced the appointment of Charlotte Sibold as executive director of Sunnyside Retirement Community.  Sibold will begin her new role in mid-June. 
 
An experienced senior living professional, Sibold comes to Sunnyside from Kendal at Lexington where she has been the health services administrator for the past eight years.  Her nearly 18-year career with Kendal at Lexington has included serving as director of marketing, admissions coordinator, and resident life and volunteer coordinator.  Prior to that, she worked at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.   
 
“We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to Sunnyside.  Her diverse experiences in senior living, as well as her track record of accomplishments, will be an asset to Sunnyside and contribute to the future leadership at that campus and the organization as a whole,” said Lyons. 
 
A graduate of Old Dominion University, Sibold holds a bachelor’s degree in professional communications and a master’s degree in community health and healthcare management.  She is a licensed nursing home administrator in Virginia as well as a nursing home preceptor.  She is actively involved with LeadingAge Virginia, an association of not-for-profit aging services organizations serving residents and clients through life plan/continuing care retirement communities, and is a graduate of the LeadingAge Leadership Academy.  Additionally, she has served on the board of directors for the Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington Rotary Club. 
 
Established in 1912, Sunnyside Communities is a not-for-profit Life Plan community with three locations in Virginia:  Sunnyside – Harrisonburg, King’s Grant – Martinsville, and Summit Square – Waynesboro.
