Mustaches for Kids: A Fun Way to Support Children in Foster Care

Get ready to see some great — and not so great — mustaches popping up around the Shenandoah Valley! Blue Ridge CASA for Children is launching Mustaches for Kids (M4K), a playful, community-driven fundraiser running through the month of November.

M4K puts a lighthearted twist on “No Shave November.” Local men pledge to grow their best (or worst) facial hair creations — from handlebar masterpieces to patchy surprises — all in the name of supporting children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Participants collect donations throughout the month, and all proceeds directly benefit Blue Ridge CASA for Children’s mission to provide trained volunteer advocates for children in foster care.

“This fundraiser truly puts the fun in fundraising,” said Angela Crawford, CEO of Blue Ridge CASA for Children. “It’s a lighthearted, creative way for our community to come together for a serious cause — making sure every child in foster care has a strong, consistent voice in court. We’re encouraging everyone to get involved, grow a ‘stache, and grow our impact!”

M4K participants will also have opportunities to connect and compare mustaches in person at meetups scheduled across Augusta, Shenandoah, Rockbridge, and Rockingham Counties — so the fun won’t be far away. For more information about meetup schedules, visit https://myevent.com/m4kblueridge
This year’s event comes at a critical time for Blue Ridge CASA, as the organization faces a funding gap. Every mustache — and every dollar raised — helps ensure CASA can continue to serve more children across the region.

Participants can register or donate online at https://myevent.com/m4kblueridge
Updates, photos, and leaderboards will be shared throughout the campaign on Blue Ridge CASA’s social media pages and https://www.facebook.com/M4KBlueRidge/

So, whether you’re rocking a dashing ‘stache or cheering on a friend, join in the fun and help Blue Ridge CASA make a lasting difference for local children.
