Massanutten Resort Announces Opening of Outdoor WaterPark for Season, Introduces Line-Up of Memoria

Non-Stop Fun All Weekend Long with ValleyFest Beer & Wine Festival,
New Menus at Dining Venues, and New Spa Offerings


McGaheysville, Va. – May 23, 2018Massanutten Resort, a premier all-season resort in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, has announced the kick-off of summer with a Memorial Day weekend full of activities, including the reopening of the outdoor section of the WaterPark, live entertainment, ValleyFest Beer & Wine Festival, new menus, spa offerings, and more.

Saturday, May 26:

Guests can make a splash this Memorial Day weekend as Massanutten Resort reopens the outdoor section of the WaterPark for the summer season. True competitors can challenge their friends, as they race head-first down the Rockingham Racer downhill water slide or face off during a game of water hoops at the Splash-a-Nutten Splash Zone. The resort’s White Caps Wave Pool provides endless fun for the whole family, as three-foot waves keep guests cool all day long. At any time, guests can head indoors to enjoy the Indoor WaterPark, which is always heated to 84° Fahrenheit, complete with a triple-jet FlowRider® Endless Wave, thrilling water slides, a water fortress, inflatable adventures, pools, lazy river floats, and hot tubs. Three stories of eateries and gift shops overlook the Indoor/Outdoor WaterPark complex giving visitors a bird’s eye view of the action below. General admission to the WaterPark is $40 per person, and $27 for guests under 42 inches. Memorial Day weekend WaterPark hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Indoor) and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Outdoor) on Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Indoor) and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Outdoor) on Sunday.
 
ValleyFest Beer & Wine Festival goers will enjoy dancing to live music, sampling delicious food, shopping for unique art and handmade crafts, and sipping on spirits and microbrews from the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. More than 4,000 attendees are expected to attend the festival. General admission tickets are $35 per person and include festival admission, unlimited samples and a souvenir stadium cup. Visitors under 21 can purchase tickets at $10 per person, and children under 10 are free. Active-duty and retired military members can purchase tickets in-person at $20 per ticket with a valid military ID.
 
Sunday, May 27:

Massanutten Resort’s Base Camp is the place to gather after an exciting day at ValleyFest. Guests can enjoy the resort’s ValleyFest Brunch Buffet on May 27, featuring mouthwatering breakfast items, including mahi-mahi florentine with a red pepper sauce, smoked bacon-wrapped carved pork loin with peach sauce, and grits with country ham and local cheese. Tickets are $20 per person, and $10 per children 12 and under. Children two and under are free.

 
Residents, visitors and foodies alike will delight in refreshing flavors and mouthwatering dishes with the launch of Massanutten Resort’s exciting summer menus at on-site venues including Base Camp, Campfire Grill, Virginia BBQ & Pizza Co., Hideaway Bar, Dog Shack, and the Blue Ridge Buffet, located on the top floor of the Indoor/Outdoor WaterPark. Crowd-pleasing starters at Base Camp include the Bavarian pretzel served with lager cheese sauce, the Jar-O-Bacon served in a mason jar, and the larger-than-life Mountain Pu Pu Platter. Campfire Grill’s new summer dinner menu, launching Memorial Day weekend, incorporates refreshing options such as the Appalachian Trail Salad or the grilled salmon, letting the natural flavors of the ingredients speak for themselves.

Just in time for the Summer season, the Spa at Massanutten Resort will unveil their new service menu, designed to exceed expectations. The new menu features Burly Man men’s services, optimizing facials and therapeutic massages, Verde olive oil nail treatments, and customized services for teens and tweens including massages, pedicures, and manicures. Local residents and travelers alike who need a little R&R after all the festival fun, can book the Wellness Package, which includes two nights in a one-bedroom condo and two complimentary massages valued at $190.
