Massanutten Regional Library’s annual Summer Reading Games returns this summer with the theme “Libraries Rock.” Throughout June, July and August, MRL branches will be hosting hundreds of literacy-based programs, STEM activities, movies, musical performances and special events for children of all ages. Registration begins Monday, June 4th at all MRL branches. You do not need to have a library card in order to register and participate in Summer Reading Games.

Designed to combat the learning loss experienced by many children during the summer school holidays, MRL’s Summer Reading Games encourage children to read all summer long through creative and enjoyable library-based events as well as a summer reading challenge. Children who participate in the reading challenge receive prizes and coupons for each 2-hour block of reading they complete. Children who complete the entire 10-hour challenge receive a prize pack. The reading challenge runs from June 4 to August 11.
