Lapp retires after years of leadership, relationship building
Throughout his career, Lapp cared for community and people
HARRISONURG, Va. – Joseph Lapp, JD, Trust and Charitable Services Specialist, will retire from Everence® Financial at the end of 2018 after 15 years of helping members and clients integrate their faith and finances through charitable giving.
In 2003, Joseph joined Everence as a Trust and Charitable Services Specialist in Harrisonburg, Virginia. In 2011, he moved into the role of Managing Director to lead the financial advisors, representatives and support staff at the Everence office in Harrisonburg. In 2017, Joseph transitioned from the Managing Director role into his current position.
“In the three years I’ve worked at Everence, Joe has taught me a great deal and I appreciate his willingness to share his wisdom,” said Teresa Boshart Yoder, Managing Director. “Joe has served Everence and his clients with respect and care. He brought his incredible relationship-building and community-engagement skills from his experience as university president.”
Before coming to Everence, Lapp served for 16 years as President of Eastern Mennonite University from 1987-2003. Prior to that, he practiced law in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, for 15 years. A graduate of Eastern Mennonite University, Lapp earned his Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology.
He is married to Hannah and they have one daughter and two grandchildren. Lapp is a member of Park View Mennonite Church, the Harrisonburg Rotary Club and the Board of Eastern Mennonite School.
