  • About

Bringing people together is our specialty. Since our inception in 1982 as the first mediation center in Virginia, FairField Center has demonstrated that when individuals and groups improve their ability to listen, understand, and communicate effectively and fairly, everyone in the community benefits. Whether mediating sexual harassment cases, working with families in crisis, facilitating restoration between crime victims and offenders, teaching about bullying, offering dispute resolution during emergencies, crafting communications solutions for business or government teams, or listening to segments of the community in search of understanding, the FairField Center’s professional and compassionate mediation and training programs provide the tools necessary for resolving conflicts, working cooperatively, and building better communities.

One of the FairField Center’s most recognizable and well-loved vehicles for bringing people together is the Harrisonburg International Festival, a vibrant event that has celebrated multicultural unity for 21 years, drawing more than 9,000 in attendance. The festival is a powerful symbol of the many ways respect, appreciation, and understanding can enhance our lives.
