Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
Born in Uruguay on June 8, 1971, artist Mauricio G. Esperon first realized his love for art in elementary school. After studying graphic design in the mid ‘90s, Esperon moved to Miami, FL in 1999, where he began work at a printing company. Esperon began painting after reading books on Latin American art and has been greatly inspired by 19th century Uruguayan artist Joaquin Torres Garcia. He states that he enjoys painting irregular shapes and using complex and detailed colors that shock the public. Esperon’s Works on Paper will be on display in the Arts Council of the Valley’s Smith House Galleries. This month’s Opening Reception will also showcase local one-man Americana band Cardinal Folk. The Galleries are free and open to the public M-F 9 AM-5 PM.
